Lucky Lady

Today is a good a day to try out another new girl. This one is void of pull-ups and HSPU, so it seems like a good follow up to yesterday's workout.

"Christine " - 3 Rounds for time
500 M row - Sub 50 reps SDLHP - 45#
12 BW Deadlifts
21 Box Jumps

I don't have access to a rower, so I'll be doing the SDLHP sub. I like to think 'shin-to-chin', making sure to use legs, hip drive and shoulder shrug to generate bar momentum while avoiding pulling with the arms as much as possible.

Results:
Jason: 25:06 - 2x20# DB SDHLP, 2x80# DL
Seth: 21:09 - 195# DL, 30" Box
Shiloh: 25:06 - 185# DL, 30 3/4" Box

sub'd 50 SDLHP @ 2x20# DBs
for DLs used 2x80# DBs

good news and bad news with this one. good news is none of the lifts hurt my left hammy! bad news is it took me 25:06 to finish.

Good job Jason. I'd forgotten about the hamstring issue when picking workouts. Got lucky with the selection today.

This was much harder than I was expecting. I just couldn't seem to keep moving and found myself resting pretty frequently.

The taller box jumps really slow things down as I can't string the reps together like I'm used do. The explosiveness required, though has to be beneficial, and I'm hoping they'll get easier soon.

25:06 (yes, same as Jason)

185 lb DL

30 3/4" "box" jumps

It turns out the black saw horses are 30". Add some 3/4" plywood on top and you have some motivational box jumps; if you ever missed, it would kill your shins.

I was forced to rest while taking off/putting on the BB weights. I'm sure would have rested some anyway, but it sucked to take the time to switch them out. Half way through I thought I should have followed Jason and use DBs for the SDLHP, but by that point it take just as long to put weight on the DBs.
