Pain in Three Parts

I'm not sure where Justin came up with this one, but it looks like everyone had fun with it last time.

3 rounds of:
  • AMRAP of 25m shuttle sprints in 60 seconds
  • 60 seconds rest

followed by

18, 12, 6 rep rounds of:
  • Deadlifts 225 lbs
  • Knees-to-bar

followed by

3 rounds of:
  • AMRAP of 25m shuttle sprints in 60 seconds
  • 60 seconds rest

Description: Each 25m sprint will be considered one "rep." Down and back is two reps. Perform as many reps as possible in 60 seconds. Partial reps don't count. Rest 60 seconds. When the first three rounds are complete, move inside and perform the deadlift/KTB workout. After finishing, repeat the sprint workout.

Results:
  • Seth - 11,10,10 - 9:26 as Rx'd - 10,10,10
  • Todd - 9,9,8 - 12:36, 115#DL/leg curls, jumping KTBs - 7,7,8

Never the original

We always seem to do the "Something Else" version of tabata intervals, so I had to look up the original just to see what it was. Let's switch it up by trying the original.

"Tabata This"
8 tabata intervals (20 seconds work followed by 10 seconds rest) of each of the following.
  • Squats
  • Pull-ups
  • Push-ups
  • Sit-ups
  • Rower (Calories), sub SDLHP reps
Rest exactly 1 minute between exercises. All 8 intervals for each exercise are performed consecutively. Keep track of reps performed each round for all intervals of all exercises. Score is the sum of the lowest number of reps for each exercise in any set.

Results:
Seth - 44
  • Squats - 15,15,15,15,15,15,15,15 - Minimum: 15, Total: 120
  • Pull-Ups - 8,8,8,8,8,8,8,7 - Minimum: 7, Total: 63
  • Push Ups - 9,9,9,9,9,9,7,7 - Minimum: 7, Total: 68
  • Sit Ups - 12,11,10,10,10,10,10,9 - Minimum: 9, Total: 82
  • SDLHP - 11,8,9,8,6,6,6,7 - Minimum: 6, Total: 61

  • 5x Curtis P Complex @ 95lbs
  • 15ft Rope Climb (sub 15 towel pull-ups or other as appropriate)
  • 10x GHD Situps (sub atomic sit-ups or weighted sit-up to standing, etc.)
  • 5x Scotty Bob @ 2x25lb dumbbells
  • Run 200m

Curtis P: Hang Squat Clean – Lunge – Lunge – Push Press

Sure hope there are enough barbells available for the workout today. Probably be wanting to give mine back by the third round.

In honor of USAF SSgt Timothy P. Davis, 28, who was killed on Feburary, 20 2009 supporting operations in OEF when his vehicle was struck by an IED. Timothy is survived by his wife Megan and one-year old son T.J.

Visited CFHQ for the first time in a while to confirm the prescribed weight for a random selection and got distracted by the new WOD that was posted for today:
