Tried 20-rep sets of squats today. Warmed up, then loaded up 225.

Here was my internal dialog

Reps 1-5: "Knees out, head down, pull the bar into the back, down deep, drive out with the hips, good."

Reps 5-10: "Knees Out, this is getting heavy, down deep, hip drive, drive drive, ok."

Reps 10-12: "Ok, This officially sucks ass. I'm ready to be done. Down, up, Down, up"

Reps 13-15: "Sweet mother of god, it burns!! DOWN. UP."

Reps 16, 17, 18: "JESUSFUCKINGCHRISTOHMYGODWHATTHEHELLAMIDOING"

Rep 19:
There is no me, there is no bar. There is only pain.

Rep 20:
n/a there was no thought taking place at this time

Collapsed and writhed in the floor for a bit, but the pain wouldn't stop. It took a good few minutes before I could even lay still.

I waited 5 minutes and tried to do another 20 rep set at 205, but was cashed out at 17 and had to rack it. Finished that set, waited another 5 minutes, and got in 10 reps at 185, and took a few more attempts to get to 20.


20 rep sets = murder. My new favorite form of self-punishment.

shortened and scaled version of the hq wod from a few days ago:

3 rounds of:

15 115# deadlifts
12 115# hang power cleans
9 115# front squats
6 115# push presses

~28 mins. i'm terrible at every one of those but the deadlifts...

I worked out at Shiloh's tonight. We did the Navy Seals version of "300":
25 Pull-Ups
50 Deadlifts - 135#
50 Push-Ups
50 Knees to elbows
50 DB Swings - 50#
50 Squats
25 Pull-Ups

Much tougher at 10:00 pm than in the middle of the day.
Times:
Seth - 18:37
Shiloh - 21:29
