Suggested redemption

James was kind enough to pick the workout for today. It proved to be tougher than some could handle last time, but I'm sure today will be different.

Five rounds for time of:
  • 15 Deadlifts - 135 lbs
  • 12 Hang power cleans - 135 lbs
  • 9 Front Squats - 135 lbs
  • 6 Push Jerks - 135 lbs

Results:
  • Seth - 29:34
  • James - DNF, 3 rounds in 22:05, sub 20 air squats for Front Squats
  • Justin, alternate workout

I went with all Rx weight today except for subbing 20 air squats for the front squats (knees). But I'm not too bummed about the DNF. It was a 40lb increase from my previous Hanging Power Clean and Push Jerk weight. Plus, by the end, I was sweating and bleeding from my shins and hands enough that I felt satisfied.

Note to future self: No matter how pretty and cool the shiney, new Oly bars look, use the old ones that don't have the fresh, sharp grooves.

That was one tough SOB. I was sweating buckets after just a single round. I too ended up with some scrapes on my shins, which doesn't go well with all that sweating.
Guess I'll blame the slower time on my lower back already aching from yesterdays windmills & bear complexes.
