Non-competitive
I know it shouldn't bother such a non-competitive person such as myself, but my wife, Melanie, keeps telling me what workouts she's been doing. Included on her list are some from the "Folder of Pain & Suffering" that I've been avoiding. She says that she picks the longer ones so she feels like she's making the most of her trips to the gym, but I think it's a subtle challenge. With that said, and apologies to everyone else doing these workouts, today begins the task of accepting Melanie's challenges. We begin with this little gem:

I am really pleased with my time, despite Justin beating me today. I was expecting this to take much longer. I looked back at our J.T. times from 1/18, and expected the 1 1/2 mile of run added in would add at least 10 minutes to those times...
Nope. Today's time was only 3:30 slower than my J.T. time. Crazier than that is Justin's results. His time for Tri-athlon was actually 18 seconds FASTER than the J.T. time on 1/18!!
I'm really pumped that we're still seeing these types of performance gains after nearly a year on the program. I'm pretty sure I'd hit a plateau in my old weight-lifting routine by this point.
I was planning on sticking with the "beginners" for a while, but I don't have any dumbbells yet. So, since I'm not competitive either, I went for the Tri-athalon.
Before I post the time I must confess...I'm running outside and counting steps. 800 steps should be close to 800 meters. I had a brain fart and only ran 562 steps the first time. I also think a few of my dips were a little shallow.
That all said, I finished in 23:05.
Shiloh,
For running outdoors, I find this site very handy. Seth found it somewhere.

You can use it to plot out a certain distance run from satellite or map view from Google maps.
And excellent job on the workout!
