Monday – “Murph”

Murph

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.' From here on it will be referred to as 'Murph' in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

For time.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed.

Start and finish with a mile run.

If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

RESULTS

Seth - 45:50
Justin - 51:40
Jason - 52:34 Mods: Sub 300 jumping jacks for 1mi run due to rain. 30 pull-ups assisted.

That second mile was the sorriest assed run I ever did run.

11:00+, most of it was walked.

I figured I could push through the last mile. Running usually isn't where I struggle. Had to walk for a bit, but still finished that last mile in just over 8 mins.

The time for the pull-up, push-up, squats portion were very similar. Longer stride = win. (Not that we're competing)

That is one tough workout. Very much doubt I would have finished if I'd been working out by myself.

"Not competing" my ass.

There's not a competitive bone in Justin's body.

Right.

I've heard Justin asked what sport he's training for. Answer: "Crossfit is my sport."

Well you can't call it a sport if there is no competition. And with competition, you're going to have winners and losers. So since I was the winner today...

Sorry Justin, I don't make the rules.
