Unexpected Heroism

Walked into a mess at work after being out Fri-Sun, so no pre-gym post. Figured this would be suitable for getting the workout week started.

"DT" - 5 Rounds For Time:
  • 12 Deadlifts - 155 lbs
  • 9 Hang Power Cleans - 155 lbs
  • 6 Push Jerks - 155 lbs

In honor of USAF SSgt Timothy P. Davis, 28, who was killed on Feburary, 20 2009 supporting operations in OEF when his vehicle was struck by an IED. Timothy is survived by his wife Megan and one-year old son T.J.

Results:
  • Laura - 17:43, sub 75#
  • Seth - 19:10, sub 170#
  • James - 20:40, sub 135#
  • Jason - 21:53, sub 135#

Forearms are toast. Those heavy HPC were a killer.

Easing back into the groove. Working out in the shop, did:

10-8-6 rep rounds of:
160lb bench press
135lb power clean
HSPU (from 12" parallettes)
100lb sandbag shoulders (alternating sides)
Push-ups (from 12" parallettes)
70lb DB power clean (alternating sides)

Didn't time it. Was going to do 10-8-6-4-2, but the heat started to get to me and headache/nausea won out.

I've definitely got my work cut out for me getting back into the swing of things.

My forearms were on fire as well. That was a nice workout to start the week.

Justin, please never do HSPUs with 12" parallettes when I'm there doing regular ones beside you.
